OUR TIME
Why do we battle with time itself?
So fearful that on the shelf
We’ll slowly decay
In our time, where wisdom is out of place
We favour a prettier face
With much less to say
And suddenly, there’s more
In my child’s eyes, there’s all
I will ever need to see
I’ll be there tomorrow
An era I can borrow
And in her time, she’ll carry me
Why do we grieve for the paths we took?
Like a role in a different book
Has jumped into yours
And suddenly, there’s more
In my child’s eyes, there’s all
I will ever need to see
And I’ll be there tomorrow
An era I can borrow
And in her time, she’ll carry me
Suddenly, there’s more
In my child’s eyes, there’s all
I will ever need to see
And I’ll be there tomorrow
An era I can borrow
And in her time, she’ll carry me
Why do we battle with time itself?
