Jeremy: “The Rest Of Time is the product of what was undoubtedly the most unique and exciting project we've ever been involved in, notably to record 2000 voices around the UK for inclusion on our song to save lives lost to blood cancers. The fact that the record secured itself an iTunes chart position in the Singer Songwriter chart in January 2015 along with widespread media coverage was for us testament to the power of the people involved in the project: all the voices, our lovely friends Michaela and Berny of acoustic duo Ethemia as well as Minnie Birch all of whom sang on the song, and all the incredible people that got behind this simple idea and helped us plug it. 2014 marked a decade since I lost my Dad Graham to a particularly nasty strain of Leukaemia. If not a cure, my Dad could have had more time had medics been able to find a bone marrow donor match for his tissue type, which they failed to do despite scouring national and international donor databases. Ten years later, medical science has moved on greatly and today
becoming a donor is far easier, but little has changed in terms of the number of available donors, which is crazy and tragic in equal measure. Anyone healthy and fulfilling the prescribed age requirements can be a donor - and very easily, without any cost or fear of
significant disruption to daily life, which most people don't realise. In the vast majority of cases, no major operation is needed, and donating bone marrow or stem cells is barely more of a life imposition than giving blood. Most potential donors don't know they have it in their grasp to save a life, and meanwhile, as the song says, so many are waiting, not daring to hope that someone might gift them time. During the process of promoting our song and cause, we came across little Emma Whittaker to whom we dedicated the release of the single - Emma is 7 years old and at time of writing still searching for an urgently needed donor match. We should not be in the position today of people dying of diseases that could be treated or even cured if only others were aware they could do
something very small to save a life.”

Lyrics

THE REST OF TIME

Give me just one day
Aahh

To think I could have it all mapped out inside
A perfect sequence for life
Beneath a sea of questions
My father slipped away
No science to wound his steely pride
And doubt flows always
Did I let him down?

This is the whisper that could be a cry
We only need to pass it on
I’d seconds to find out
A thousand hills to climb
The English grace and the moment gone
And doubt flows always
Did I let him down?

Give me just one day
In fact you’ll be handing me
The rest of time

So many awaiting not daring to hope
That someone might gift them time
Would you put yourself out
For someone you don’t know?
Sell a day of comfort and purchase a life
And doubt flows always
Did I let him down?

Give me just one day
In fact you’ll be handing me
The rest of time

Ah yeyo
